Josh Roth – Program Director
Joshua Roth serves as the Program Director at Gracie Barra West County, where he is passionate about helping students of all ages build confidence, discipline, and resilience through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. With a leadership style rooted in service, mentorship, and real-world experience, Joshua is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment that supports personal growth both on and off the mats.
Joshua is a proud U.S. Army veteran who has served both overseas and at home in times of need. His military service includes deployments to Iraq, Kuwait, Germany, and Guatemala, as well as domestic activation during the civil unrest in Ferguson, Missouri. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he continued serving his community as a targeted vaccination team leader in the St. Louis region. His commitment to protecting and supporting others has earned him multiple honors, including a Lifesaver Award and the Governor’s Medal for his service as a firefighter. He is also a licensed EMT and brings a calm, safety-first leadership presence to his work with students and families.
As a disabled veteran, Joshua understands the importance of perseverance, mental strength, and strong community support. He is a man of faith and a believer in God and Jesus Christ, values that shape his character and leadership style. He strives to reflect integrity, humility, and encouragement in his daily life and at the academy.
Outside the academy, Joshua is a devoted husband, father, and therapeutic foster parent. He is also a greenhouse enthusiast and beekeeper, reflecting his passion for growth, stewardship, and building strong foundations — values that closely align with the Gracie Barra philosophy.
