Kids & Teens Martial Arts in West County (Age 10-14)
Can a martial art support a parent’s instruction?
Discipline and Excellence
Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides a challenging yet safe and supportive atmosphere for young adults to mature their techniques allowing them to become real-life champions. The outcome of continued practice goes beyond the accomplishments on the mats. Our instructors expect discipline and focus which often carry over to the student’s behavior outside of the classroom.
Located in West County, our Ballwin facility is easily accessible for kids and teens throughout the Des Peres, Twin Oaks, Webster Groves, Crestwood, Clarkson Valley, and Chesterfield areas to take on world-class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu just a few minutes away from home.

Reinforcing Values
Have you decided to invest in a martial arts program for your child? At Gracie Barra in West County, we offer effective classes that teach kids and teens martial arts skills while developing core values to use outside of the classroom.
Our instructors take a longstanding approach to student development, and we are committed to not becoming a belt factory. Your child will not be pushed through a series of kata, forms, and other martial arts styled choreography. At our West County location, we do not charge for tests or belts and students are not required to participate in competitions.
The First Class
When you step foot into our martial arts school you are welcomed by our friendly and knowledgable staff. Please plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to class so that you and your kids have time to prepare and practice. Our classes start on time and your child will be required to walk into the training area where a trainer and assistant instructor or senior student will be waiting to help your son or daughter permore drills and activities. We encourage parents to hang out and observe our practices.
Fun and Challenging
Our instructors take pride in their student’s and team’s accomplishments. However, our primary goal is to work with parents to aid in the development of strong, healthy, happy, confident young adults who become exceptional patrons and useful to their communities. The Gracie Barra Future Champions Program was designed to provide kids ages 7-15 with an environment that enables them to experience and respect our core values of focus, self-confidence, discipline, perseverance, and cooperation.
Our West County Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes are divided up into two age groups of 10-12 years, 13-15, and are taught in an engaging and progressive atmosphere with instructors who create customized experiences for each student. Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is second to none in preparing young adults for possible serious situations such as being bullied. Bullying is prevalent in this age group and can become more intense with social media outlets making it easier to bully.
